Disney+ commissions Curious Films to make Caroline Flack feature doc

Almost five years after the tragic death of Caroline Flack, Disney+ has commissioned a new feature documentary about the late Brit TV host. With the working title of “Caroline,” the film will be told through the eyes of Flack’s mother, Christine, as she celebrates her daughter’s life and career while also seeking to understand the events in the final months of her daughter’s life.

Professor Hannah Fry has been nominated for a prestigious Grierson Award for her role as the presenter of Curious Films 'Making Sense Of Cancer' (BBC2). Used to investigating the world around her through numbers, when Hannah is diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 36, she starts to interrogate the way we diagnose and treat cancer, to ask whether we are making the right choices in how we treat this disease. Hannah charts her own cancer journey in raw and emotional personal footage, where the realities of life after a cancer diagnosis are laid bare.

A+E expands ‘Secrets of’ franchise with new Penthouse series from Curious

A+E has ordered Secrets of Penthouse from Curious, revealing the rise and fall of Bob Guccione, who founded Playboy rival Penthouse magazine. The venture pushed the envelope on adult entertainment and made Guccione a multimillionaire, but when he died in 2010 the founder had lost his fortune. The four-part doc features access to Guccione’s family and friends to reveal the truth behind the entrepreneur and explores the impact he had on those closest to him. Secrets of Penthouse is exec produced by Dov Freedman and Charlie Russell, alongside Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson for A+E, which handles global distribution rights to the series. It will TX on A+E network on 21 August.

‘Fertility Fraudster’: Netflix Greenlights Series On Man Accused Of Fathering More Than 500 Children

The story of a Dutch YouTuber accused of fathering more than 500 children is to be explored in a Netflix documentary series titled Fertility Fraudster [working title]. Curious Films, which made Netflix John McAfee doc Running With The Devil, is behind Fertility Fraudster along with AJH Films, the producer of Discovery+ Donald Trump doc Unprecedented. EPs are Dov Freedman, Jessie Versluys, Natalie Hill and Alex Holder. Josh Allott is director and series producer is Kathryn Taylor.
